[FROM DARKNESS epitomises the state of melancholia, life through the eyes of one suffering. It is in this state of mind, the world is seen in a different light, a time that alternate subjects stand out. We tend to separate ourselves from others and notice the world from another angle which is often taken for granted. It is beautiful in all of its negative aspects and feelings of gloom. The high contrast illustrates how the world is seen… from the darkness… to the light. It is the struggle to move from these dark emotions to a sense of lightness and liberation. The imperfect imagery correlates with the ‘imperfect life’ that is believed to be prominent. Through a blurred outlook on life, the days seem to draw out and previous days turn into a blur of insignificant yet lingering memories.]
