website.

I am currently in the process of constructing my website.
It is taking a lot longer than anticipated due to Christmas, holidays and general technological issues (mostly me being bad at it!).

Once it is formed I will not be uploading to this blog any longer, but rather the blog on my website which will be at www.darliaargyris.com.au

for the moment, please access my Facebook page at:

Thankyou!
Darlia Argyris.

compact music.

I've never shot at a festival and even after having my 35mm film camera rejected at the gates of Splendour In The Grass, I dealt with it and continued to shoot, but with my little compact Canon number and decided to accept the limits it has. The results are pretty dodgy at most times, but then again it is a fun challenge!
Here are a few shots from the last few years:

The Strokes: Julian Casablancas // Splendour in the Grass
Woodford - July/August 2010
In the front row at the main stage with about 20,000 people behind me, unable to breathe, I still managed to snap this shot of lead singer Julian Casablancas. Completely out of focus, this is one of the dodgy yet wonderful qualities of such a small camera.

The Killers // Good Vibrations Festival
Gold Coast Parklands - February 2010
The Killers were headliners at this years Good Vibrations Festival. Lead singer Brandon Flower's mother passed away a few weeks before this festival, and because of that we witnessed what seemed to be one of the most amazing sets I have ever seen. So passionate and emotional, it was truly a memorable experience. Plus! confetti. What more could you want!?

N*E*R*D: Pharrell Williams // Hordern Pavilion
Sydney - March 2009
Being such die-hard N*E*R*D fans, my sister and I flew down to Sydney for 1 night to see N*E*R*D play their own headline gig. I shot this image just as Pharrell was walking back off stage at the end of their set. I was deaf for 2 days as we were front row, but even though I couldn't hear for some time it was well worth it! So, by the time my hearing had returned, it was time for Future Music Festival at the end of that same week, which I won free tickets to on the radio!! 2 sets in a week = best week of my life.

fashion // 2009 - 2010

I have recently been re-editing some old fashion images of mine and just put together a print portfolio. I will be uploading the re-edits in the next week or so. Here are some to begin with..

[models: Georgia Mavromatis + Lucy Thompson]

i'm back.

I have been busy shooting a number of things lately.

Recently shot an extensive jewellery collection to be in the QUT fashion/journalism magazine, 'FROCK PAPER SCISSORS'. I am in the process of editing the images but they will not be seen until the production of the magazine.

Being my last semester of photographic study, I am busy with my final folios. My minor folio is due this friday, so I am in the process of the final cuts and intricate editing. I shot art landscapes on my Mamiya RB67 and I am really happy with the images thus far!

I am also planning my major fashion folio shoot with 8 models, stylists and makeup artists! It is going to be a lot of fun!
A few social events coming up and some fashion shoots in the near future. Really, I just can't get enough of 120mm film!

stay tuned..x

b&w/surf.

I will often take a massive bunch of shots in the summertime around the QLD/NSW coasts,
and because there are so many of the same images I shoot around that time,
I like to put them away until Winter when I can re-visit and edit them with a clear mind. These images were shot between November 2009- April 2010.
